Using my old stash...

I keep telling myself to use some of my old stuff and then maybe sell the cards or something. But I just never get around to it.

Well, my daughter (3 years old) is always looking for stickers of some sort...if it won't stick she will put glue on the back of whatever it may be. In her search for stickers (while I was at work) she found my old stash of Accents and Element Tins. I think they're the first ones Stampin' Up!(R) came out with in one of the mini catalogs. Well I never used them...they were too cute and didn't want to use them up and then need them for some other project....so there they sat.
When I got home from work I saw the stickers sitting on my table, so I decided to make something with them and of course she made something too. Both my girls love to stamp with me!!! :)

So this is what I ended up with:

Since I was using retired stuff, why not use a retired stamp set?! So I grabbed an old Hostess set Happiness Always. This stamp set has always been one of my favoites, but never got to use it all that much. I ended up using the colors from the little label (not sure what to call it) to make the card. I knew I wanted to use the label for the sentiment, so I just went from there. I knew that I'd need a smaller sized focal image to get the sentiment to fit over top the main image. If that makes sense?!

I used Chocolate Chip as the base and layered it with some Perfect Plum cardstock. I stamped the stem and flower image from the set to make the flower in the background.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the sentiment onto the label. I cut a piece of Mellow Moss to layer the sentiment label and set that a side while I worked on the main image.

I grabbed some White Cardstock and stamped the butterfly image from the set in Pale Plum and Perfect Plum and another in Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke.

Before I adhered everything I tied some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon around the card. Adhering the focal image over the ribbon with dimensionals. I also popped up the sentiment...using one over the main image and two on top of one another on the other side of the label. If that makes sense?! Doing that just made it so it was even on both sides.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my card!
