I found this sketch challenge on SCS and thought I'd try it!

At first I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it! I wanted to use a color combo I had never used before. So I grabbed my "notebook" that I keep all the different color combos in. And picked out Taken with Teal, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, River Rock and Chocolate Chip. Can't remember where it came from, sorry!

Since I don't use Taken with Teal a lot I started with it as the base. Then I took some River Rock and cut it to 3 1/4" X 5 1/4" and stamped my Polka Dot Background in River Rock onto the River Rock cardstock. I did the same thing with a strip of River Rock cut to 3/8 x 5 1/4. I sponged the edges of both pieces with River Rock ink. I took some Very Vanilla and cut 3 of them to 1 3/8" X 2 5/16 and stamped the single flower from Embrace Life in Chocolate Chip and colored it in with my Real Red marker and adhered it to some Pumpkin Pie that was cut to 1 1/2" X 2 1/2 (3). I then adhered that to the River Rock CS and adhered that to the base. I stamped the "Dare to be Fabulous" sentiment from Fabulous Flowers in Taken with Teal onto Very Vanilla (3 X 1 1/4) and adhered that to a Chocolate Chip piece cut to 3 1/8" X 1 3/8" and adhered the sentiment overlapping the bottom of the flowers and the River Rock CS.

I hope you like it! I love this color combo and sketch! Going to have to try it again! Thanks for stopping by!

*Might help if I actually posted a picture of the card I made, huh?! LOL

I made this for my daughter that turned two yesterday! I waited till the last minute to make it ... sometimes I think my cards turn out better when I do that (only sometimes, not all the time). LOL!

I used my new SAB stamp set (which helped out a lot, because I don't have very many birthday sets) and some new ribbon.

For the color combo, I grabbed my Color Coach (SU! Color Wheel) again! I love that thing! I actually had planned on using Pretty in Pink for the base, but I guess I had forgot that by the time I got out all my colors because it turned into Mellow Moss (so if you're looking for this color combo turn your "pointer" to Pretty in Pink and it's all the Coordinating colors) LOL. Instead of starting with the base first, I actually started with the main image (focal image) this time. I stamped the cake in Perfect Plum onto Very Vanilla and matted it with Mellow Moss and Perfect Plum. Then I stamped my polka dot background in Mellow Moss and covered the whole card front. I tied some Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon around a So Saffron piece of CS and adhered it to the card. I then added my focal image with dimensionals and stamped the "happy birthday" in Perfect Plum. And there you have it...my daughters birthday card.

Supplies: All supplies from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Birthday Whimsy (SAB) and Polka Dot Background
Paper: Mellow Moss (5 1/2 x 4 1/4-finished size; 2 5/8 x 2 3/8), So Saffron (2" x 5 1/2"), Perfect Plum (2 3/4 x 2 1/2) and Very Vanilla (2 1/2 x 2 1/4).
Ink: Mellow Moss and Perfect Plum
Accessories: Dimensionals and Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon

A little Stumped....

Okay...the other day I really wanted to create something, but nothing was working for me. I kept having these ideas in mind, but they never turned out the way I had planned. So I had just purchased the color coach and thought I would go there for color inspiration (since I have a hard time with that even on a good day) since I had the layout in my head already. I love scallops! Wasn't sure what set to use so I looked through my binder (which holds all my stamped images) I knew I wanted something either small enough to stamp several times or big enough to take up some space on the card. So I chose the L2 Hostess set Cause for Celebration. I started with Always Artichoke (my favorite color in the stamping world) and then went to Rose Red. I scalloped the bottom edge with my corner rounder punch (love this but it did take some practice--in fact I tried it a while ago and couldn't get it, so I gave up, but figured a couple months later that I needed to master it...so I did! :)) and adhered it to Always Artichoke. I took some whisper white and stamped the cupcake 3 times, also stamped it on some Rose red Designer Prints and cut them out. I used my markers to color in the cupcake. Before adhering it to the card I paper pierced some So Saffron and layered it with the focal image and some Almost Amethyst CS. I stamped the sentiment from Lots of thoughts (a SAB set). And there we have it...

Supplies:

Stamps: Cause for Celebration and Lots of Thoughts

Ink: Basic Black Stamp Pad and Almost Amethyst and So Saffron Markers

Paper: Rose Red, Always Artichoke, So Saffron and Almost Amethyst and Rose Red DP

Accessories: Crafters tool kit and Paper Piercing Template

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for all your comments!

Updated my blog

Okay....I've updated my specials and promotions and my catalogs. I've always wanted the picture of the catty or flyer but couldn't ever figure out how to do it. I think I have it, but for the life of my I still can't figure out why the "title" part isn't working (the part where it says SAB Recruiting Promotion, Sale-A-Bration and/or Stampin' Up! and has the red "X" or the red sqare/green circle/blue triangle). I just don't want that part showing? Can you guys even see it? Maybe it's just me! If anyone knows what I am doing wrong please tell me! :)

I have also included links of blogs that are 100% Stampin' Up! so if you need some inspiration click on the name and hopefully you'll find what you're looking for.

I've been pretty busy tonight, so hopefully I'll have more to post either later tonight or tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!
