First Digital Scrapbook Page

Images (c) 2013 Stampin' Up!
I'm more of a hands on person when it comes to scrapbooking.  I'd rather "play" with paper and all the cool embellishments and everything, but I thought I'd give digital scrapbooking a try.  I have so many picture to catch up on...having the time to actually sit down and scrapbook is not an easy "task" to complete.  So for now, if digital scrapbooking is the way I'm going to catch up then I'll do that.   Anyways,  this is my first scrapbook page.  It was really easy with the digital templates from Stampin' Up! (R).   I still have a lot to learn, but that'll be the challenging part.   Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed the digital scrapbook page.

June 28, 2012

It's been a busy week or two here.  I have been stamping just haven't had time to upload anything onto the computer...hopefully I'll get that done within the next day or so.  Thanks for your patience.

Soft Butterflies

Soft Suede is like my go to color.  I can't seem to get away from it, but that's okay.  :)  This card was pretty easy, but I love it. Love the postage punch and these butterflies together.

I used Soft Suede as the base and matted a soft suede dsp from the Comfort cafe DSP.  The "messy" bow is Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon (love this ribbon too!).  Inked up the butterflies using the soft suede marker and punched them out with the postage stamp punch. In some scrap paper I cut a 1" square to mask the outter edge of the punch so I could sponge the butterflies without getting the edges.  They're sponged in Crumb Cake ink.  It would have been so much easier with the 1" circle punch, but I didn't have it so I improvised. I lightly inked up the edges with Soft Suede ink and a sponge and adhered them to a piece of very Vanilla card stock just slightly bigger than all the punches together and matted that on Crumb Cake; popped it up with dimensionals.  Added the thinking of you from the teeny tiny wishes stamp set and matted it on Soft suede.   Pretty simple card to put together and i'm loving it!!!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes and Kindness Matters
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake
Ink: Soft Suede and Crumb Cake
Accessories: Postage Stamp Punch, soft suede ribbon and Comfort Cafe DSP

Thanks for stopping by hope you enjoyed it!

Calypso Collage

I started with a Crumb Cake Base added a strip of Calypso Coral cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits (Item # 125595; $9.95).  I stamped the frame image in Calypso Coral onto the base and cut out the center.  I stamped the leafy image onto Vanilla cardstock, stamping it a couple more times without reinking.  I  stamped the "label image" in soft suede directly onto the same vanilla cardstock.  On some scrap pieces of cardstock I inked up the rose in calypso coral stamped it off on to scrap piece of paper and stamped it onto very vanilla cardstock.  I inked up the thanks so much from Tiny tags in soft suede and stamped it onto the rose and punched out with the 3/4" circle punch and popped it up with dimensionals.  I stamped the butterfly in calypso coral and cut it out, added a crumb cake brad and popped it up with dimensionals.  Lastly, added some soft suede taffeta ribbon and tied it in a knot.

Stampin' Supplies: (All Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Papaya Collage and Tiny Tags
Ink:  Soft Suede and Calypso Coral
Paper:  Crumb Cake,Calypso Coral and very Vanilla
Accessories: Adorning Accents Edgelits, 3/4" Circle Punch, Neutral brads, Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon and dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you enjoyed the card.

Artistic Cobbler

I tried making one of those messy bow things...not sure what they are really supposed to be called but you can find the video here and thats what I came up with.  It looks a lot better in person, but my camera is very old and I don't have the greatest lighting either. oh well...anyway...I didn't have the crinkled ribbon so I just used the seam binding I did have.  Once I had the ribbon done I wanted to make a card with it.
I  used Basic Black as the Base of the card and added a Very Vanilla DSP from  the Designer Series Paper Stack Neutral collection (Item # 117157; $21.95).  I took some "scrap" (just a piece I had from one of my classes that I didn't use) Glossy White Paper (Item # 102599; $5.95) I stamped the Eiffel Tower image in Versamark onto the Glossy White and added black embossing powder and Heated with heat tool.  With a Brayer I added Cherry Cobbler Ink, after wiping off the excess ink I matted it onto Basic Black cardstock and adhered it over the Vanilla DSP.  I stamped the sentiment from language of Friendship in Basic Black and stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched it out with the Decorative Label punch and inked the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink and a sponge.

Stampin' Supplies: (all Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Artistic Etchings and language of Friendship
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Versamark
Paper: Basic Black, Glossy white, Vanilla and Neutral DSP pack
Accessories: Decorative Label, Black embossing powder, sponges and cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon and Brayer

Wisteria Flowers

Card Supplies: Stamps: Field Flowers
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla and Lucky Limeade
Ink: Wisteria wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard (stamped off and stamped again)
Accessories: Wisteria wonder ruffled ribbon, scallop trim border

I started off stamping the stems in Lucky Limeade.  Then, I stamped the more solid image of the flowers in wisteria wonder and then topped them with the out lined image inked in Elegant Eggplant. Added the centers, by stamping in more mustard.  I  stamped the sentiment from the set in chocolate chip ink.  Added the scallop trim border and the ribbon and called it good.

I love the colors Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder together especially with the stamp set Field Flowers. Pretty simple card, but I love it. One of my favorites so far. I think I need to play with this set a little more.   Thanks for stopping by!

Gently Starfruit

Card Measurements:
Elegant Eggplant: 4 ¼ x 5 ½, 2 ½ x 2 ⅝
Summer Starfruit: 4 x 1 ½, 2 ⅜ x 2 ½
Twitterpated DSP: 4 x 5 ¼
Naturals White: 2 ¼ x 2 ⅜

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Gently Falling, Just believe
Ink: Summer Starfruit, Baja breeze
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze and Natural White
Accessories: Elegant Eggplant Scallop Dots Ribbon, Framelits Bitty Banners (Item # 129267; $14.95) and Twitterpated DSP, stampin' dimensionals.

Hello! It's been a while since I've done anything with my blog. I decided to start posting on my blog more. I decided to play with the new In colors. Since I first saw them I knew I would have a hard time using Summer Starfruit so I decided to use that one first... I started with a color combo from the color coach. The colors are Elegant Eggplant (Regals collection), Summer Starfruit (2012-2013 Incolor) and Baja Breeze (Subtles collection). Then I went through my DSP and found something with a tone on tone look and ended up using a Baja Breeze sheet from the Twitterpated DSP pack. I decided by base was going to be Elegant Eggplant since that's what was sitting on my desk from a card I made earlier. I adhered the Baja Breeze DSP to the card base. Then I wrapped the Scalloped dots ribbon around the summer starfruit piece of cardstock and adhered that to the DSP. I then inked up my image and stamped off (making it a lighter version of summer starfruit) on to scrap paper before stamping onto Naturals white cardstock. With the outlined image of the same stamp I inked it in Summer starfruit, but left it at it's true color...making it a darker outline than the “inside” of the leaf. I adhered the image to a piece of summer starfruit and popped that up on to a piece of elegant eggplant. I adhered the focal piece so it would over lap the strip of summer starfruit. I stamped the “thank you” from Just believe stamp set and ran it through the big shot with the bitty banners framelits die. At first, I didn't really like the card all that much, but it grew on me after a while. Thanks for stopping by.

Some cards I've been working on

I've been trying to work out of my comfort zone a little.  What I did with these is worked with colors I don't normally use.  Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie aren't colors I normally work with.  So I decided to use them.  I believe I got this color combo from the color coach, but it's been a while since I made these, so I could be mistaken. I used half of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of whisper white and randomly stamped images from the Level 2 Hostess Set.

I cased this one from one of the catalogs.  I think it was the Idea book, but can't remember for sure.  I'll let ya know as soon as I find it.

Party Hearty!

debbies pics 197 I made this card before the new catalog came out. I used my markers….some of them were a little used…I’ve let my daughter use them a couple of times….especially the ones I don’t use very often.  Since it’s been a while since I created this card I can’t remember for sure what colors they are. So hopefully they’re the ones I think it is.

Supplies:
Stamps: Party Hearty! (i’ll update if that’s not the correct name)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Real Red, Certainly Celery, and Chocolate Chip markers
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie and White
Accessories: Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon (reverse side), scallop edge punch, modern label punch, and window tag punch.

Hello

IMGP1471

Thought I'd make a card using the Hello Again (I believe that's the correct name for it) set.  It's so cute.  I was gonna' use the matching wheel but I guess I forgot.  Oh well just means I'll  have to make another card.  For some reason this is one of my new favorite color combinations... Melon mambo, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.  I'm usually not a Bright color lover, but love the new brights collection in the catalog.

Back to the card, I knew what I wanted to do with this card before I even started, but ended up having to do it in a two day sitting due to family duties. :)  We all know how that goes.  I made the Main Image first and then finished the rest of the card on the next day.

Stampin’ Supplies:
Stamps: Hello Again
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Paper: Same as Ink
Accessories: Old Olive wide grosgrain, corner rounder, dimensionals

Hope you like it. Hopefully soon I’ll have more to post. Thanks for stopping by.

Haven't posted for a  while...my computer got a virus...so needed to wait to get that fixed and everything.   It's working now, but anything i've created is either using the newly retired stuff or some of my really old stuff (not recently retired).   Don't have too much new stuff yet, so hopefully I'll be placing an order soon.  Trying to come up with open house ideas without any new product is difficult.  So hopefully I'll have something new to post here in a couple days.

Some more Little Creations....

I was going through my retired Scraps of DSP.  I found some from the flower for you DSP packet.  So I thought I would use it to make a 3x3 card.  This is what I came up with.  Really simple but cute.

I also was going through some of my old Simply Scrappin Kits and decided to make a ATC using some of the scraps and stickers from the kits.  I can't remember the name of the kit, but here's the project....

Using up some of my old stash....lots more to go.

For some reason I've been doing a lot of little stampin projects.  Been making ATC's, 3x3, tags .... little things like that.  I haven't had a lot of time at once to sit down and stamp so that's what i come up with.   I've also been using some of my old stuff/retired stuff.  It actually feels good to be using it. I'd buy all this paper and then it was too awesome to cut....so there it would sit and never get used.  Now I have too much stuff and need to start making room for new stuff.  Running out of storage space.  Here are some of the one's I've done.

I was going through some of my older stuff and found some rub-ons that I thought would look cute on something... Didn't know what I was going to do with them at first but this is what I came up with.  Didn't quite turn out how I had planned but it works.  I used Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Bordering Blue and Almost Amethyst.

Got a couple more, but I'll share those tomorrow.  Gonna' go roast some hot dogs with the family.  Thanks for stopping by.

June 3, 2010

I needed to make a Thank you card and since I needed to get it done fast I thought I'd CASE one out of an older mini Catalog. I had the Ocassions Mini Catalog (April 1- June 30th, 2009) sitting on my desk.   I opened to pg. 3 and used that as inspiration.  Not sure exactly what colors they used in their card, but I used Wild Wasabi, Rose Red and Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla. Instead of using the stamp set Soft Summer I used Asian Artistry.  I used my Stampin' Pastels and blender pen to color in the image.  I really like this card...loved how simple it was to create.  I ended up making 3 of them...I knew I wouldn't give the card away if I didn't make any more.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes and Asian Artistry
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Very Vanilla 1/4" grosgrain Ribbon, blender Pens and Stampin Pastels.

HMMM....

I haven't stamped in a while, so I wasn't sure what I wanted to do or where to start I started looking at the catalog and decided to just CASE something outta there till I got my mojo back.

I started the card and messed up right away, so I tried covering up the mess up and this is what happened. I love this card! My new favorite!

I used the stamp set For All You Do. Used the flowers in the set to make my own patterned paper.

Inks: Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Crused Curry and Rich Razzleberry.
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and White
Accessories: Tri flower punch, silver brads, dimensionals

Using my old stash...

I keep telling myself to use some of my old stuff and then maybe sell the cards or something. But I just never get around to it.

Well, my daughter (3 years old) is always looking for stickers of some sort...if it won't stick she will put glue on the back of whatever it may be. In her search for stickers (while I was at work) she found my old stash of Accents and Element Tins. I think they're the first ones Stampin' Up!(R) came out with in one of the mini catalogs. Well I never used them...they were too cute and didn't want to use them up and then need them for some other project....so there they sat.
When I got home from work I saw the stickers sitting on my table, so I decided to make something with them and of course she made something too. Both my girls love to stamp with me!!! :)

So this is what I ended up with:

Since I was using retired stuff, why not use a retired stamp set?! So I grabbed an old Hostess set Happiness Always. This stamp set has always been one of my favoites, but never got to use it all that much. I ended up using the colors from the little label (not sure what to call it) to make the card. I knew I wanted to use the label for the sentiment, so I just went from there. I knew that I'd need a smaller sized focal image to get the sentiment to fit over top the main image. If that makes sense?!

I used Chocolate Chip as the base and layered it with some Perfect Plum cardstock. I stamped the stem and flower image from the set to make the flower in the background.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the sentiment onto the label. I cut a piece of Mellow Moss to layer the sentiment label and set that a side while I worked on the main image.

I grabbed some White Cardstock and stamped the butterfly image from the set in Pale Plum and Perfect Plum and another in Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke.

Before I adhered everything I tied some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon around the card. Adhering the focal image over the ribbon with dimensionals. I also popped up the sentiment...using one over the main image and two on top of one another on the other side of the label. If that makes sense?! Doing that just made it so it was even on both sides.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my card!

Sense of Time...

Hello Everyone! I know, I know it's been a long time since I posted. I miss blogging, so I decided to make a goal to blog at least a couple times a week. I probably shouldn't have started that goal, just yet because I'll be moving (again) in about a week. So I'll be moving and working 40+ hours a week, so I don't know how much time I'll have. But after moving is complete I will be posting a couple times a week. :)
On to the card:
I saw this layout in the June 2009 Stampin' Success (pg. 23) and the card they made on pg. 26 and just had to make something. I was short on time, so I just used their Alternating Color Palette: Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red. I ended up using the Sense of time stamp Set from the Occassion Mini. I love these types of sets, but I don't always get inspired by them, so every little bit helps.
I made my own Background on the Artichoke and Chocolate Pieces using the stamps in the set. I used Always Aritchoke, Mellow Moss and Rose Red Stampin Write Markers to ink up the sentiment and used my scissors to distress the vanilla paper. Tied some Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon around the card and adhered the sentiment with dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by!

Love you much

Wow! It's been a while since I posted!

Working forty hours a week (used to staying home with my girls), trying to keep up on house work, training to be a manager.....it just gets to ya after a while. I'll just say things are pretty crazy around here right now.

I made this card a while ago when I first got my Love you much stamp set along with the punch (Heart to Heart) and the Candy Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP). Now I used to hoard my DSP and now I am regretting it....never thought I'd say that....I have TONS of paper that is now retired and I can't show at workshops or anything....so I made it a goal to start using my DSP. I decided to use half the pack for cards and the other half for scrapbooking. That's another things I need to do more often is scrapbooking.

Anyways...on to the card. I started out with a very vanilla base and layered on a RHR (riding hood red) piece of cardstock.

Next I added a strip of Pink Pirouette and used my scallop punch along the edge. Adhered the strip of DSP to the scalloped piece and added some Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon.

I stamped the main image in Chocolate Chip and used my blender pens to add color. Matted it on a piece of Pink Pirouette.

For the sentiment, I stamped the scallop image on Close to Cocoa and punched it out with the scallop Circle Punch. Stamped it a second time on Very Vanilla with RHR ink and cut out the little heart in the middle and adhered it to the center of the sentiment. Adhered that with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my card.
