I made my first square card! It was so much fun! I used Beate's weekend sketch challenge, found here. I love challenges...especially ones using a sketch. If I don't have a lot of time to stamp or scrapbook, I use a sketch. It takes me a LOOOOOONNNNNNNNG time to figure out what I want to do with a page and EVEN longer to pick out the colors!!! :)

Here's the card:

My scanner isn't the best! But you get the idea! I need to get a digital!

I don't use Pick a Petal a lot...infact I think this is my second time actually finishing a project with it. I started with my base, Basic Gray measured at 5x5. I stamped both circles in versaMark onto the Basic Gray then added a piece of Designer Paper from Brocade Backgrounds, which was glued down and then I faux stitched the edges (first time doing that too). Then I stamped the petals in Ruby Red and Mellow Moss and cut them out. I also stamped the circle with the dots in it in mellow moss on River Rock card stock and punched it out with my 3/4" circle punch. Then I stamped it again on ruby red and cut it out and layered it with the river rock piece using dimensionals. Before adhering that to the page I then added the ribbon and the pewter hodgepodge hardware. The saying under the hardware is from the Vases in Vogue set and uses only part of the stamp "a flower for you". Then I adhered the flower petals and that was that! Pretty simple, but I like the way it turned out! Thanks for looking!

Supplies at a quick glance:
Stamps: Pick a petal and Vases in Vogue
Paper: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Brocade Background DP
Ink: Mellow Moss, Ruby Red and VersaMark
Accessories: Basic Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, and hodgepodge hardware Pewter, oh and dimensionals.

I know I'm a liar...

Okay, so I lied about posting everyday...maybe I should have said 2-3 times a week or something?! But it has helped me get some stuff done and to post here even if I didn't get anything done. I don't really have anything stamping to share right now, but maybe later today. Thanks for stopping by!

Finally finished a Challenge...

I decided to actually do a sketch challenge from Artistic Avenger. I love her blog! She inspires me so much!

I hadn't used the Polka dots and Paisleys set in a while, so I wanted to do something with that.

First I made my card base (4 1/4 X 5 1/2) out of Bravo Burgandy. Then I took the polka dot stamp and inked it in Sage Shadow and stamped it on my Sage Shadow CS (4 1/4 X 3). I also distressed the top edge of the stamped cardstock.

For the main image, I took Very Vanilla CS and stamped the paisley stamp randomly in Sage Shadow, Creamy Caramel and Bravo Burgandy. Then I sponged the edges in Creamy Caramel. Next, I took my Creamy Caramel CS (5 X 2 1/4") and distressed the edges with my scissors, then matted the Very Vanilla. I also, popped up the focal image with Stampin Dimensionals.

I didn't have an oval punch, so I used and oval sticker and traced it and cut it out. I inked "Happy" in Bravo Burgandy and stamped it on my Very Vanilla oval. I then inked the edges of the oval in Creamy Caramel. I also, popped the oval with Stampin' Dimensionals (just on the right side).

Hope I didn't make the instructions confusing! I never know how to word everything. :) Hope you enjoy it! I really like this one...love the colors.

Mini Album

These are pages from a mini album I am making for my Daughter. When her sister was first born, she stayed with my in-laws for a couple of days. These are the pictures that they took! All these pages are using the Fall Flowers Designer Paper. I love it! They aren't really in any order and I am not completely done with the project...just thought I would start loading them onto my computer so I didn't have a huge project when I was done with the album! Thanks for looking!

A little more...

Okay...I posted earlier about my workshop and I finally finished my 6x6 page. I hope you like it. It started out completely different, but I'm happy with the way it turned out! I think the kissing technique (the star in the right hand corner) was the hardest for me...Trying to figure out the two colors that worked together the best. At first, the I inked the star in River Rock and then a word stamp from Define your life in Purely Pomegranate, but it looked too much like Christmas so I inked it again the same way...just this time when I inked the star in River Rock I stamped it off on scrap paper first before I added the word stamp in Purely Pomegranate. Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Stamps: Define Your Life and All about Occassions
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, River Rock and Le Jardin Designer Series
Ink: River Rock and Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch and Spiral Punch, Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, Purely Pomegranate Double stitched ribbon and Basic Black Stampin' Write Journaler.

Workshop M&T

This is for MY first workshop! I had a customer reschedule hers so I decided to hold my first one...so I can get some practice in! This is the make and Take we are going to be doing. I am also going to demo a scrapbook page and then some kind of 3D item! Haven't figured those out yet! I have an idea, but just haven't done it. I am going to use the kissing technique on all my projects! So hopefully my customers will like it!

Happy Mail!

I got an awesome package from my secret sister today! It's nice getting stuff that isn't Stampin' Up! I haven't bought anything that wasn't Stampin' Up! since I became a demonstrator! I'm finding it hard to use the stuff I bought that wasn't Stampin' Up!, is that making any sense?

Well here is the package that I got and the card she sent me also! I'm so happy!

No stampin?

I haven't really been doing any stamping. I need to though, because I have a workshop on the 29th and I still don't know what I'm going to do. I did make a card, but it's for my little sister (secret sister). So when the round is over, I'll make another one (since I forgot to scan the one I sent to her) and post it for you! I'm also in the middle of making some card candy! It will be my first time attempting it, so it's a little slow going right now. I'll keep everything up to date. My house is clean now, so I'll have a little more time to stamp! :) Hopefully!

CASE the new catty exactly Swap

This was my first swap! We chose a card to CASE (Copy) exactly from the New Catalog. We made 10 of the same card plus 1 (for the hostess). We send them to the hostess and then we'd get one of each card that was made in the Group we were in! Here are the cards from the Group that I was in. Aren't they wonderful? I wish now, that I was in more than just one Group! But it was my first swap, so I thought I would take it easy! :)

Update

I updated my DDSS slide show. I got another card from my DDSS (dabblin' demo secret sister) and it is awesome! I love the color combo and the technique she used! It's Melted Crayon Background. I've never tried it before, but I have to now! :)

Boy Pages w/o Boyish Stamps

Stamped Images © 1990-2007 Stampin’ Up!

This is a Make & Take (M&T) I am making for my first workshop. She wanted scrapbooking which is wonderful! The hard thing I ran into was making it masculine. She has boys and I have all girls! So I didn't really have any masculine stamps. She pointed out the scrapbook page on 86 and said she really liked the layout. So I just changed the stamp sets and some of the paper. But I feel like it's missing something though. HMMM....

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp of Authenticity
Paper: Always Artichoke, River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Night of Navy
Accessories: Staples, Silver Brads and Stampin' Dimensionals

This is another scrapbook page I'll be demonstrating. She also pointed out the scrapbook page on page 88. I didn't have those stamp sets yet either...but have been wanting them...so I put in a quick order, but if they aren't here by the time my workshop is (Saturday) I'll just stick to this one.

Supplies:
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: River Rock, Chocolate Chip and Baroque Backgound designer paper
Ink: River Rock and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Photo corner Punch, Silver Brads and Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon and Stampin' Dimensionals

I need to make a card too, but I might just do a box or something.

My First Workshop!!!!

I finally got my first workshop! I wasn't really trying to get any booked, it just happened! I am so excited and scared and the same time. If you know me, you know that standing in front of people is not my thing at all! Even though I am a shy person, I still became a demo...wasn't going to make much out of it...unless it went to the next level on its own...and well...I think it's heading there!!! So I have less than a week to get ready for my first workshop! I better get in gear!

Bright Idea

Okay...it's not that bright of an idea, but I didn't know what else to put as the Title. Starting now, I want to post in my blog once a day. I think it will help me get some things done rather than just looking at my stamps and paper! :) Which I do quite often! So hopefully I can actually make this one stick! Tend to forget that I actually have a blog! So here it goes...
